Leave It In The Ground

The Leave It In the Ground Action Group is involved, often in coalitions with other organizations, in efforts to block new fossil fuel infrastructure in the Pacific NW.  We don’t have active coal mines or oil or gas fields, but our region is a desirable corridor for transporting fossil fuels from the interior to West Coast ports and refineries. We also support national and international campaigns by 350.org and allies to keep fossil fuels in the ground and to work for a just transtion to a renewable energy future.

No LNG No Pipelines: The Army Corps of Engineers Environmental Impact Statement Scoping Process now open on a dredging project that will greatly expand the ship channel in Coos Bay, which the Jordan Cove LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) export terminal needs, using $60 million in state funds. Deadline for comments is October 3, 2017.
